Stick-Of-The-Day: A Trend Worth Fetching
There are a few things Golden Retrievers seem to love universally: their people, a good snack, and carrying something they are very proud of. Around here, that “something” is often a stick—and not just any stick. It has to be the biggest, most interesting, most delightfully inconvenient stick they can find.
Over time, we began noticing the same adorable habit among so many of our Platinum Goldens. Whether they are exploring the backyard, walking through the woods, or simply helping with a little outdoor cleanup, they always seem to find a stick worthy of showing off.
So, naturally, we decided to make it official.
Introducing Stick-Of-The-Day
Stick of the Day is our new weekly feature celebrating one Platinum Golden, their latest wooden treasure, and the wonderful family sharing life with them.
Each week, we will select a photo shared by one of our Platinum families and feature the Golden behind the stick. It may be a tiny twig carried with tremendous pride, a perfectly shaped branch discovered on a walk, or a hilariously oversized limb that definitely should not fit through the door.
There are no size requirements and no judging criteria. If your Golden believes it is an exceptional stick, that is good enough for us.
Why We’re Making It a Trend
One of our favorite parts of raising puppies is watching their personalities continue to unfold after they leave our home. We love seeing the adventures they take, the friendships they form, and the funny little habits that make each dog completely unique.
Stick of the Day gives us another way to celebrate those everyday moments—and to help our Platinum Goldens community stay connected. Every shared photo is a little glimpse into a life filled with muddy paws, wagging tails, family adventures, and the unmistakable joy of being loved by a Golden Retriever.
It is also proof that while our puppies may grow up in different homes, some Platinum traditions follow them wherever they go.
How to Participate
We want to see your Golden’s best find!
To join the fun:
Snap a photo of your Platinum Golden proudly carrying or posing with their stick of the day.
Share it on social media and tag Platinum Goldens so we can find it.
Include your dog’s name and, if you would like, a short story about where the stick was discovered or why it earned such enthusiastic approval.
By tagging us, you are giving us permission to reshare the photo on our social channels and potentially include your Golden in an upcoming Stick of the Day feature. Please make sure your account or post is visible to us—or send the photo directly if you prefer.
A Quick Note About Stick Safety
Carrying a stick can make for an adorable photo, but safety always comes first. Supervise your dog closely, avoid sharp or heavily splintered branches, and do not encourage running with a long stick or chewing pieces that could break off and be swallowed. When playtime is over, trade the stick for a dog-safe toy or treat.
The goal is a cute memory—not an unexpected trip to the veterinarian.
