Visitation Policy
Young puppies have extremely fragile immune systems, and limiting visitors helps prevent exposure to illnesses and outside stress. A structured visitation process also ensures that only approved families who have committed to a puppy through an application and deposit are entering our home, which keeps traffic low and our environment calm and controlled.
At Platinum Goldens, the health, safety, and development of our puppies and adult dogs are always our top priority. Because our puppies are raised inside our home—not in a kennel environment—we follow a structured visitation policy designed to protect their wellbeing while still giving families a meaningful, memorable experience.
1. Application & Approval Required
Before any visitation is scheduled, all prospective families must:
-
Submit a Puppy Application
-
Receive application approval
This allows us to ensure each puppy is placed in a loving, committed, and well-prepared home.
2. Deposit Must Be Placed Before Visiting Puppies
After approval, a non-refundable deposit must be placed to reserve your spot on our waitlist.
Only families with an approved application and a secured deposit are eligible for visitation.
This policy limits unnecessary traffic in our home and helps keep our animals safe from outside stress and exposure.
3. Puppy Visits Begin at 6 Weeks of Age
For the health and safety of our litters:
-
Puppies cannot have visitors before 6 weeks old.
-
At 6 weeks, puppies have received their first round of vaccinations, allowing for a safer meet-and-greet experience.
You’ll be invited to meet the litter, interact with your future puppy, and ask any questions about temperament, development, and care.
4. Limited Visitors
To avoid overwhelming the puppies and to maintain a peaceful home environment, we limit:
-
The number of visitors at each scheduled visit
-
Visits to immediate family members only (unless otherwise arranged in advance)
5. Illness & Exposure Precautions
To help keep our puppies healthy:
-
Visitors may not visit if they have been sick or around sick animals
-
Visitors must avoid other kennels, breeders, shelters, or dog parks for 48 hours prior to their appointment
-
Handwashing or sanitizing will be required upon arrival
6. No Unscheduled Drop-Ins
We are a family-run breeding program based in our home, with children, farm animals, and multiple daily routines.
All visits must be scheduled in advance and approved by us.
7. “Meet the Pack” & Family Day
You will have two special opportunities to connect with your puppy:
-
Meet the Pack Day – Around 6 weeks
-
Family Day (Pick-Up Day) – At 8+ weeks, when puppies are ready for their forever homes
These events are designed to be warm, welcoming, and educational—giving you everything you need to bond with and prepare for your new Golden.
